Having had the pleasure of living in Louisiana and seeing Zachary perform live I always cherish any new album he records. With that said, Last Kiss is his best effort ever and that says a lot. No one captures the Cajun culture in song better. He sings with such clarity and emotion that you want to help him and his people more and more. The Levee Broke evokes the heartbreak of Katrina and the inadequate government response with a soaring gospel chorus. For all listeners who are fed up with the detachment and distance in so much popular music today, I urge you to listen to Last Kiss and remember how great it is to hear a singer who can put so much feeling and heart into his work. www.amazon.com
