Good Luck & True Love - Reckless Kelly
Good Luck & True Love is an album that encompasses the last
15 years of Reckless Kelly. Ten new songs that capture the
essence of a road worn and battle scarred band of brothers
that aren't afraid to take risk and tell it like it is. That's country rock.
That's old school. That's Reckless Kelly! ROR RECOMMENDS!

Hearts & Arrows - Danny & The Champions Of The World

"a dusty, wistful sepia-toned postcard from an imagined past, it slots right in between
peak Kerouac, Pat Garrett-era Dylan and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young" **** MOJO

"Danny Wilson is turning into one of those artists whose work he has venerated -
Ryan Adams,
Mark Olson, Bruce Springsteen even" **** THE TIMES

Gentle Spirit - Jonathan Wilson Wow, this is pure nostalgia. JW has produced a wonderful mash of soft West Coast, Laurel Canyon folk rock, with atmospheric psychedelic overtones
sung in a whispering style. Slightly indulged lyrics and long meandering songs make this a real listening album.elements of Grateful Dead, Jackson Browne.... Perfect for the Holiday period! ROR RECOMMENDS!

Rock 'n' Roll Party - Honoring Les Paul (Live) - Jeff Beck

With superb band and vocals by Imelda May, this is a night to remember!

El Camino - The Black Keys

5.0 out of 5 stars You're a BLACK KEY If You Don't Buy This Album!!!!, December 8, 2011
This review is from: El Camino (Audio CD)

This album ROCKS(period)!! That said, while "Brothers" was a bit overstuffed with slow-burning soul songs, this "El Camino" is a fuel injected, revved up, pedal-to-the-metal, tire squeeling lean and mean rock feast! In fact, I think this album is best to listen to while driving because you will find it impossible to avoid slapping your thumbs to the drums on your steering wheel, kick drumming your feet and pounding your console! Now THAT is the sign of a great rock album!

How to Become Clairvoyant (Bonus Track Edition) - Robbie Robertson

10 years after the last album, comes RR newie and pretty good it is to!

Break Til You Bend - The Stagger and Sway

Americana with a Rock and Roll temper.

Barrence Whitfield & The Savages (Enchanced) - Barrence Whitfield & The Savages

Barrence Whitfield is a full-throttle soul screamer in the spirit of Little Richard, Wilson Pickett and Solomon Burke.  He has been described as the owner of one incredible pair of lungs, with limitless energy and unmatched enthusiasm for his music and his audience.  Barrence is a rarity in this business--one of a few black, rock n roll singer/entertainers who Spin Magazine says maintains a frenzied performance...

Enter the Haggis - Gutter Anthems

Over the past three albums and five years, Toronto's Celtic rock band Enter The Haggis has found itself at the center of a grassroots success story ever teetering on the brink of mainstream success. From playing Celtic festivals to headlining them, and from the festival circuit to selling out multiple nights in rock venues, ETH has blazed a path with heavy and almost constant touring up and down the East Coast, to Canada, the West Coast and back again, winning over success one fan, one town, one region at a time.(Amazon)

It's rare to hear the focus of an album, the lead singer's voice, change so often and yet remain so much the same - but "rare" is something roots quartet Headwater has never turned away from. Their new release Lay You Down is an 11 song look at love, death and loss in the modern world. And from the haunting opening chords of “Death of me,” onwards, it’s easy to hear why Penguin Eggs Magazine says that “Headwater’s defining feature is the amazing match of two musical soul mates.” (amazon.com)

Beyond the Sun - Chris Isaak

5.0 out of 5 stars "Beyond The Sun" is great rock and roll music., October 18, 2011
This review is from: Beyond the Sun (2CD) (Audio CD)
"Beyond The Sun" will reach and delight a wide audience of people. Older listeners will remember the original songs. Younger people will appreciate these covers performed by Chris Issak. My favorite is "Live It Up". This is not a classic song, but it has the same upbeat tone of a song from the fifties. His guitar playing on this track is superb. Chris covers the Roy Orbison classic "Oh Pretty Woman". This is one of my all time favorite songs. This is the best tribute for pretty women every where. "Great Balls Of Fire" is a song that makes me want to dance. The keyboard playing is excellent on this track. "Can't Help Falling In Love" is simply one of the best love songs of all time. Chris really moves me on this song. Chris covers a few Johnny Cash tunes here. He sings the song "Ring Of Fire" with such liveliness and expression. "I Walk The Line" is one of the coolest country tunes ever. Chris introduces me to a new song entitled "Dixie Fried". I have never heard this before, but I love it. It is a song about a man who is fearless. "That Lucky Old Sun" is another song I have never heard before. It is the kind of song that soothes my mind. This song is so laid back. I love the way Chris croons this tune. "I Forgot To Remember To Forget" is a song about how a woman can stay on a man's mind forever. The bass playing is great on this track. This is great rock and roll music. Courtesy Amazon

Black Country Communion - Black Country Communion Joe Bonamssa's Supergroup that really works!

It’s hard to believe, but it’s been over a decade since The Brilliant Mistakes formed, and five years since the release of our last album, Dumb Luck. In that time we’ve been hard at work not just making new music, but being consumed by our lives: Marriages, homes, children, jobs, pets, gardens, The Sopranos. But our music beckoned – as it always does - and led us back on the trail. (CD Baby)

The guitarist for Melissa Etheridge, Jeff Healey and Uncle Kracker has stepped out in front for this release, along with Kenny Aronoff on drums, Mark Browne on bass and Fred Mandell on keyboards.

Recorded primarily live in the studio in only a day and a half, "Peace Machine" features 14 raw, soulful and explosive tracks that will leave you wanting more.

White Denim - Fits

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatness, October 30, 2009
First review as well, and probably the last. Again White Denim does us all a favor and brings back RAWK and roll music. It's one part Zepplin, one part Sam Cooke, one part The Doors and even a little Hendrix to funk it all together. It's beautiful and that's all I'm going to say. Also please see them live if you haven't... they will blow your mind. www.amazon.com

Space Age Blues - Devon Allman's Honeytribe

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent CD, March 2, 2011
This review is from: Space Age Blues (Audio CD)

I bought the first Honeytribe CD and thought it was great so I bought the second one. It too is a great CD. Excellent musicianship and production. Well I had the pleasure of seeing Honeytribe in concert this past weekend and all I can say is these 2 CD's do not do the band justice. They were so heavy and intense I couldn't believe it. From the opening song right through to the encore they were smokin' hot and just blew the audience away. Buy the CD's because they are good and you will love them but you have to see Honeytribe live to really appreciate the music. Devon Allman is a very creative and talented blues rock guitarist and he has a very powerful voice. The rhythm section was one of the tightest and innovative I have ever seen........... www.amazon.com

Double Crosser - The Level Spirits
Soulful, sassy vocals, twangin' Gretsch guitar, pumpin' drums and a thumpin'
double bass is what you'll get from THE LEVEL SPIRITS.
Featuring former Stems man Julian Matthews on guitar, Miss Molly Jean
Morrison on vocals, ex-Kingpin 440 bassist Mark Mansour and the mighty
Robert Urban on the drums, THE LEVEL SPIRITS mine the sounds of the late
fifties and early sixties to create one helluva soul garage sound. GREAT!!
