CONTINO - BLACK DOGMA

19 May 2012

CONTINO - BLACK DOGMA
Contino's mixture of Blues, Americana, Cajun, and Roots music has earned them an ever growing fan base both in North America and Europe. To see Contino is often like watching a train rolling at high speed down a mountain. It's frenetic, exhilarating, and you might often wonder if it's about to run off the tracks - but it never does. ROR RECOMMENDS!

Ian Siegal - Broadside It has been said that had blues man Siegal been around in the sixties he would today be accorded the same reverence as Van Morrison,Joe Cocker and Eric Clapton. Instead a child of the seventies who dropped out of art college to busk the streets of Berlin,Siegal progressed to clubs around Nottingham, then to London and ultimately to major stages around Europe. "The closest thing I've heard to Chester Burnet!" JEFF BECK

Two succesive European tours opening for ex-Rolling Stone Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings brought him to the attention of a wider audience. This was followed by UK tours with Big Bill Morganfield (Muddy Waters' son). During this time Siegal was also capturing the hearts of audiences in Holland,Belgium,Austria and Hungary. In 2005 he topped the Soul/Blues/Jazz charts in Holland and in 2006 he debuted in the USA, appearing at major clubs and the largest music festival on the West Coast.

"If my Daddy were alive today he'd say "That's my boy!"" BIG BILL MORGANFIELD. Broadside  is his latest album, full of virtuoso performances and versitility....excellent. www.myspace.com/iansiegal

SAL KIMBER & THE ROLLIN WHEEL

09 February 2012

Sal Kimber is one of Australia’s most exciting emerging singer-songwriters. Based in inner Melbourne, Kimber has been quietly stealing hearts on the city’s live music scene for the past five years. But it was in 2008 that she really found her niche by forming alt-country band Sal Kimber & The Rollin’ Wheel (with older sister Beth Kimber, Jacob Cole, Cat Leahy and Trent McKenzie).

JULIE GRIBBLE - LETTING GO

THE STAGGER AND SWAY - BREAK TIL YOU BEND

08 November 2011

Originally an acoustic duo formed in 2007, The Stagger and Sway brought songwriter Mike Last from behind the drum-kit of two prominent Eugene bands, to reveal his candid songcraft that hits somewhere in the spectrum between Tom Petty and Uncle Tupelo.

Delivering intimate melodies with a unique bite, the vivid lyrics and atypical time signatures produce catchy hooks and toe-tapping turnabouts.

RAY BONNEVILLE - BAD MANS BLOOD

14 October 2011

LYNN MILES

25 September 2011

It’s hard to believe that FALL FOR BEAUTY is only Lynn’s third (new) musical statement of the 21st millennium and it is a beauty! While her melodies undulate between traditional country and folk roots, on Fall For Beauty, it's her
sensitivity to the world around her that pours itself directly into Miles' music to make it stand out. ROR RECOMMENDS!

PETER KATZ - "FIRST OF THE LAST TO KNOW"

11 September 2011

Talented Canadian Songwriter, Peter Katz writes well crafted folk/ rock songs in a similar vein to Ron Sexsmith, but still with an  individual charm.
