SLIM HARPO - I'M A KING BEE

The late Slim Harpo started recording in 1957 and with producer J.D."Jay" Miller at the helm, recorded a number of popular blues based hits such as "I'm A King Bee", "Shake Your Hips", "Baby Scratch My Back", " Got Love If You Want It" and "Rain in My Heart" many of which were covered by and influenced 60's English acts The Kinks, The Rolling Stones and Them. The "I'm a King Bee" album has recently been remastered and contains many of the crossover tracks that Slim Harpo was renowned for.

Allen Toussaint (born January 14, 1938) is an American musician, songwriter and record producer and one of the most influential figures in New Orleans R&B. After establishing himself as one of the greatest songwriters, accredited to him by BMI Music, Toussaint was honored with a Grammy nominee for 1977's song of the year, Southern Night, performed by Glen Campbell. Southern Nights came from the classic album of the same name released in 1975, an R & B concept album.

This newly remixed version also includes bonus live tracks from a series of concerts recorded in Fillmore East, New York 1970. Music to die for!
