DANNY & THE CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD
Wow, from London, Danny Wilson and his band have created an album that pulls Springsteen, Petty, Willie Nile
amongst others into a damned good album!
ROR RECOMMENDS!
"a dusty, wistful sepia-toned postcard from an imagined past, it slots right in between
peak Kerouac, Pat Garrett-era Dylan and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young" **** MOJO
"Danny Wilson is turning into one of those artists whose work he has venerated -
Ryan Adams, Mark Olson, Bruce Springsteen even" **** THE TIMES
Third album from A.A.Bondy, an Americana artist who thrives from writing songs baring all in a stripped back format....says his principal influences are Eno, Motown and Gospel....this is his best so far. ROR RECOMMENDS !
Fusing a mix of blistering alt rock to the hallowed stomp & swagger of classic Chicago Blues, Giles Robson & The Dirty Aces’ raw & visceral sound is being hailed as the most exciting new discovery to break out the blues world today. Pretty impressive stuff from this UK outfit, with some inventive harmonica playing from Giles Robson. ROR RECOMMENDS !
The re-issued CD does include other songs recorded by Nina Simone for the Bethlehem label not included on the original vinyl release but the additions fit right in with the jazzy, soulful feel of the musical landscape and their inclusion was a wise choice indeed. "Little Girl Blue" was not only a groundbreaking musical treasure; it's quite simply the eight wonder of the world!
Etta James (born Jamesetta Hawkins on January 25, 1938 in Los Angeles) the American blues, soul, R&B, and jazz singer and songwriter has died aged 73 due to complications from leukaemia and dementia that she had been suffering from for the last few years. James was best known for her distinctive, dynamic and gravelly vocals that drew fans to her songs I’d Rather Go Blind, In The Basement, Tell Mama, I Just Want To Make Love To You and one of the most successful soul ballads of all time, At Last.
Etta James had recently released a new album The Dreamer to excellent reviews.

THE WONDERFUL ETTA JAMES, R.I.P.
Wow, this is pure nostalgia. JW has produced a wonderful mash of soft West Coast, Laurel Canyon folk rock, with atmospheric psychedelic overtones
sung in a whispering style. Slightly indulged lyrics and long meandering songs make this a real listening album.elements of Grateful Dead, Jackson Browne.... Perfect for the Holiday period! ROR RECOMMENDS!
