It is with great excitement that we announce the formation of The Golden Gate Blues Society, or as we'll come to know it, TGGBS. TGGBS is a non-profit society, and an affiliate of The Blues Foundation, whose purpose is to enhance the appreciation and understanding of the Blues in the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
JALC is now accepting band applications for the 2009-2010 program. American music groups from throughout the United States specializing in jazz, urban/hip hop and other American roots music including bluegrass, blues, Cajun, country, gospel and zydeco are invited to apply for the opportunity to travel abroad, particularly to countries not frequently visited by American musicians, to increase cross-cultural understanding.
Mission to preserve, promote, and enhance Blues music and the Blues community; support Blues education, and promote the Chicago area Blues scene including its Blues musicians.
